Service Description: The Missouri Department of Conservation conducts research on black bears as well as request the public to report black bear sightings through the MDC web site. MDC Resource Scientiest used these data to define a core area and expansion areas for black bears in Missouri. While black bears will be sighted outside the core and expansion areas those sightings are not believed to be a breeding population.
